mouse focus loss

description

ok, this is not really an issue, i wanted to ask if it is possible to solve this.
this occurs in borderlands 2.

i have on my computer my pc monitor (display 2) and a tv (display 1) connected. the order seems like it is set from the gpu, as the tv is connected with hdmi and the graphics card says it is display 1, although display 2 is my main pc monitor. anyway, i play as player 1 on display 2 (the pc monitor) with mouse and keyboard and my friend from the couch on the tv (display 1) with a controller, both in fullscreen. if we play i set my pc display settings to expand, so that i can tell the splitscreen tool to set the picture of player 2 on screen 1. the problem is, that while i play my mouse keeps going over the time to the right till it reaches the other display and when i use the left mouse button to shoot, i am in the picture from my friend and controlling his character.
after this happens i have to use Alt + Tab to resume to my window and i currently avoid this by moving my mouse after some time of playing in the ESC menu to the other side (here left, as the additional screen is on the right).

is there a way to fix this problem ?

tl;dr: is there a way to keep the mouse focus to one borderlands window ?

I have this issue too. Unfortunately, the only way I managed to fix it was to use a controller for both players. :(
